To define is devine

Among the many definitions for the word "critical" I found the following to be of particular interest:
  1. Inclined to judge severely and find fault.
  2. Characterized by careful, exact evaluation and judgment: a critical reading.
  3. Forming or having the nature of a turning point; crucial or decisive: a critical point in the campaign.
  4. Indispensable; essential: a critical element of the plan; a second income that is critical to the family's well-being.
  5. Being in or verging on a state of crisis or emergency: a critical shortage of food.
  6. Fraught with danger or risk; perilous.
There is plenty in our current state of culture and society to judge harshly. The skills of being truly critical in our interpretation of what is provided for us as "information" have never been more important than they are now. Being critical is critical. We are in a state of critical emergency. It is critical that the public become more critical. Perilous? Maybe to some.
